The EU funded project “Promoting alternative childcare services” was implemented by the consortium consisted from WYG International (leader), ESEP Ltd and WYG Savjetovanie doo. The main Beneficiary was the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. The project duration was 30 months (February 2015 – August 2017) with a budget of 1.192.638 euro.
The Project aimed to improve access to employment for all and to increase participation of parents with small children in labour market by improving the national working environment.
The Project also supported the development of new forms of alternative childcare services that will enrich the offer of affordable, flexible and quality childcare services that meet the diverse needs of families with young children.
During the project implementation period, the project team has conducted four nation-wide surveys, among 2.400 parents, 200 potential childcare providers, 75 local self-governments and 104 companies, to improve knowledge about the demand and supply side of childcare services. Were developed more than 50 policy papers and recommendations for improving the flexible childcare services and as well, were proposed amendments for adjusting the legal framework. 22 unemployed women were trained and supported to become self-employed as family day care providers, while 12 companies with more than 50 employees were supported to establish company based childcare services or other solutions.
The objective of the Closing Conference is to bring together policy-makers, service providers and all stakeholders from the child care sector, to discuss the achievements and challenges in Project implementation.
A certification ceremony of Family day care providers is scheduled on the Conference Programme.
