The official opening of the EU funded Twinning project “Developing an advanced intelligence gathering and analysis system in the fight against organised crime” was held on Friday, 09 October 2015, at 11 a.m in the premises of the EU InfoCentre, located on “Sv. Kiril i Metodij” 52b, Skopje.
At the event, addresses were delivered by Mr. Martin Klaucke Head of Cooperation, Delegation of the European Union, Mr. Mitko Chavkov, Minister of Interior and E. Ambassador Mag. Renate Kobler, Austrian Ambassador.
Mr. Paul Marouschek Member State Project Leader presented the project objectives and expected results.
The overall objective of the project is to develop the Intelligence-led policing model for the central and regional police services, providing recommendations on legal reforms, and re-organization of the police structure through more efficient and effective inter-agency cooperation in the area of intelligence sharing.
The overall objective of this project is to support the efforts of the Beneficiary Country’s institutions to consolidate the rule of law by:
- strengthening the capacities of the justice system,
– promoting the integrity of law-enforcement agencies,
– aligning rules with the EU ‘acquis’ and standards.
The project is funded by the European Union and has a total budget of 0.9 million EUR, and the implementation period is 21 months.
